1967 Chevrolet Corvette L68 427/400 Tri-Power 4 Speed Convertible
The 1967 Corvette Stingray was the last Corvette of the second generation, and five years of refinements made it the best of the line. The 427/400HP L68 Sting Ray would be one of the high-water mark of Corvette performance and refinement for the C2 series. Changes were modest with five smaller front fender vents replacing the three larger ones and the flat-finish rockers conferred a lower profile. New was a single backup light mounted above the license plate and the previous models’ wheel covers were exchanged for the new design. Interior alterations included revised upholstery and the handbrake moved from beneath the dash to between the seats. The 427/400hp came standard from the factory with the Holley triple two-barrel carburetor arrangement called Tri-Power. The rare L68 engine package cost the original buyer an extra $437.10 on the GM order form. This 1967 Corvette was produced 1967 at the St. Louis Assembly Plant and was ordered with the optional L68 427/400HP engine, 4-speed transmission, Transistor ignition, Heavy Duty Suspension, push button AM/FM radio, and finished in its factory Tuxedo Black exterior, only 815 produced in this color! It is also equipped with the optional N89 Ribbed Cast Aluminum Wheels and Sidepipes. A complete restoration of this Corvette was completed some 15 years ago. This factory L68 Corvette is powered by the numbers matching 427/400HP engine. 67 Corvette Owner’s Manual is included. With the combination of the optional L68 Tri-Power powerhouse engine, the 4-speed transmission, and having an excellent restoration makes this an extremely rare and collectable Corvette Convertible.
